Grammys
The organizers of the 49th Annual Grammys to be held Feb 11 in Los Angeles have confirmed several of the performing artists which will now include Christina Aguilera, Ludacris, Mary J Blige, Byonce, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gnarls Barkley plus 2 performances from JT.

2007 – The Year of the Reunion?
Rockers Crowded House, The Police, Rage Against The Machine, Van Halen, James, and the Jesus & Mary Chain are all expected to return to the stage in 2007.

They join Genesis, Dinosaur Jr, My Bloody Valentine and The Smashing Pumpkins who have already announced tour dates for later this year.

Hitting Our Shores
A varied selection of music acts are set to arrive to tour most states in the coming months with tickets already on sale for P!nk, John Mayer, The Def Tones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gnarls Barkley and the Scissor Sisters.

Usher In The Fast Lane
Usher has appeared in court after being pulled over for driving more than 100 mph. The singer was found guilty of speeding, fined US$425 (A$550) and told to perform 20 hours of community service.
After the ruling, Usher spent 30 minutes signing autographs for fans inside the courthouse – unfortunately no-one would comment if this was included as “community service”.

TV Rock
Melbourne boys Grant Smillie & Ivan Gough follow up one of the biggest dance tracks of the year “Flaunt It” with their latest club stormer “Bimbo Nation”.

Jamiroquai
November 4 will see the release of the first Jamiroquai greatest hits pakage. Titled ‘High Times - Singles 1992-2006’, the album features 3 new songs with the first single “Runaway” to be released late October.

MTV Europe Music Awards
The Red Hot Chili Peppers top the nominations for 13th annual MTV Europe Music Awards, which will take place Nov. 2 in Copenhagen. The rock act is up for four awards, including best rock act and best group, while its "Stadium Arcadium" is up for best album, and the single "Dani California" is up for best song.

Muse, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake are amongst the first artists confirmed to perform at the show.

2006 ARIA Awards
A little closer to home, the 2006 ARIA Awards will be held at the Acer Arena in Sydney on Sunday October 29. Celebrating 20 years of the Awards, the night sees live performances from Wolfmother, Eskimo Joe, The Veronicas, and Keith Urban with more to be announced soon.

The awards will be telecast on Channel 10.

Silverchair
With work underway on the new album (expected to be released mid 2007), Silverchair will be playing several gigs in the lead up to the new year. Saturday December 2 at Homebake in Sydney; Sat December 30 at The Pyramid Rock Festival in Victoria and Sunday December 31 in their hometown of Newcastle.
